How the Online System Works:

- Completing the application takes approximately 15 minutes.
- Processing times are the same as traditional methods—six to eight weeks for standard service.
- Although expedited service (two to three weeks) is not yet available online, the system eliminates the need for in-person appointments or mailing documents, saving applicants significant time and effort.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be U.S. citizens or residents aged 25 or older.
- Hold a 10-year passport issued between nine and 15 years before the application date.
- Be applying for a regular passport that is not lost, stolen, or damaged.
- Not request changes to their name, gender, date of birth, or place of birth.
- Upload a digital passport photo in JPEG format.
- Avoid international travel plans within eight weeks of application submission.
Payment for the application can be made by credit or debit card.
Applicants who do not meet these criteria, including children or U.S. citizens residing abroad, must use the traditional mail-in process.
