CHILE: Autumn in Patagonia – Torres del Paine National Park – 12 days

This photographic journey is led by professional photographer and author Sergio Ballivian, offering a superb teaching and learning workshop.

The goal of this photographic tour is to immerse ourselves in the heart and soul of Torres del Paine National Park, considered the 8th Wonder of the World! There are countless opportunities to photograph the rugged majesty of this living landscape from afar and up close. We will be hiking, sailing and driving to some of the most iconic locations where the character of this battered chunk of the southern Andes Mountains is bathed in special light and scoured by the winds of the Southern Patagonian Ice Cap. Where the steppe meets the mountains and where the lakes lap at the feet of massive rock walls is where we will be each day from sunrise to sunset. We have the perfect locations, timed just right for the best light…all we need is mother nature to show us her treasures.

Sergio: THANK YOU! for such a great trip across the Altiplano and beyond. It was everything we had hoped for and I can't think of a thing we missed, other than perhaps temperatures that were a wee bit warmer...we got a lot of laughs out of it and great stories to tell "we only travel to Hawaii" co-workers. Roberto was a delightful guide full of insight and funny jokes. He was endlessly patient, particularly of my slow learning of Spanish. Of all the places we were and everything we did, I like Bolivia the best. It's a very seductive country...astoundingly raw and wild scenery with friendly and honest people. Who knows, but I'll definitely be back...it was a great adventure!

Sergio, Stephen and I just wanted to thank you so much for all your help in planning our trip to Bolivia. We had a fabulous time! The highlight of our trip was Chalalan Lodge. What a magical place. Alejandro was our guide who added a lot to our overall experience. We loved the rainforest, the food was wonderful, canoeing on the lake was great. La Paz was such an interesting city. Hotel Oberland was very charming and your friend Walter was a terrific host. All the flights and connections worked out perfectly and we were actually able to fit in that side trip to Peru to see Cusco and Machu Picchu.

Hola Sergio! It's been a wild ride...and Bolivia is the kind of place that keeps me excited. It may be raw around the edges but that makes it even better for the adventures I was looking for. The trekking and climbing were as good as any I've had in the Andes... there were no crowds! Your team of drivers, guides, cooks and porters were so nice and incredibly helpful and I can't thank them enough for all the help! The hidden secrets of Bolivia are safe with me...until I come back with more friends next time. A warm hug from the Canadian, Rockies...your old stomping ground, right? Cheers!
